The city of St. Augustine sits in a region of Florida known as the First Coast. This
northeastern portion of the state is easily accessible to other regions close by like Jacksonville, Gainesville, Daytona Beach, and Orlando. On this page we’ve provided a bit of information on the common travel areas around St. Augustine as

Jacksonville is the location of the nearest airport to St. Augustine and the place that most fly into when they are coming to the city. Jacksonville is 41 miles away, just off of I-95. One can typically travel from St. Augustine to Jacksonville in less than an hour and going to Daytona Beach and Orlando takes about 1 hour and 2 hours respectively.
 When traveling to St. Augustine and other parts of the state of Florida you’ll want to familiarize yourself with the various routes and directions. The main east to west route in northern Florida is Interstate 10. From the south, Interstate 4 runs between the east and west coasts of the state and connects Tampa and Orlando to the northeast as well as Daytona. For north to south trips you’ll want to take Interstate 95 on the east coast and Interstate 75 if you are closer to the western part of the state.
