St. Augustine Golf
Florida and the city of St. Augustine are home to some of the best
golf courses and greens to be found! Northeast Florida and the area
of St. John’s County is home to excellent St. Augustine golf courses
like the St. John’s Golf Club, which features a 27-hole layout with
beautiful landscapes, and St. Augustine Shores in which players
often have the opportunity to see alligators and other wildlife.
Also meandering through wetlands is the Royal St. Augustine Golf and
Country Club, which features 6,529 acres of lush foliage and
competitive greens.
A favorite course among many visitors is The King & The Bear at the
World Golf Village, part of the World Golf Hall of Fame located in
St. Augustine. The King & The Bear was designed by Jack Nicklaus and
Arnold Palmer and features beautiful meadows on the front nine and
beautiful 200 year old live oaks on the back nine. Also at the World
Golf Village is the Slammer and the Squire course, which was created
by PGA Design Tour Services with help from golf legends Sam Snead
and Gene Sarazen. It is home to some excellent St. Augustine golf
and the course borders a wetland preserve and shares its land with
many exotic wildlife native to the area.
Needless to say, the World Golf Hall of Fame is a must stop on any
Florida golf vacation. The museum features interactive exhibits,
memorabilia, and information on the contributions of its members.
Vacationers always love spending time enjoying the St. Augustine
golf in the area. Not only are there many award winning golf courses
in St. Augustine, there are many additional golf courses about 15
miles away from St. Augustine in Palm Coast, Florida.
